In 2008, for the first time in four years, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh began performing together, with a reunion of The Dead. A few months after The Dead's 2009 tour the musicians announced that they had formed a new band with Kadlecik, Chimenti, Lane, and Russo.

Furthur will be touring up and down the east coast starting March 4th, 2011 in Boston. This tour will include multi-night runs in smaller venues then the late winter 2010 tour this past November. The 2011 tour will include a 5 night run in NYC at the Best Buy Theater, a 3 night run at Radio City and another 5 night run at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA and many more dates on the east coast in March.
